Writing at Castleton:
At Castleton Primary School, our aim is to provide children with a high-quality education that will enable them to speak, read and write fluently, allowing them to effectively communicate in all areas of their lives.
Through the Talk for Writing process, we intend to improve children’s vocabulary by exposing them to high quality model texts. We want our children to be storytellers, retelling well known stories and inventing their own tales.
We believe that writing is a fundamental skill that supports learning across all areas of the curriculum and inspires creativity and imagination.
We strive to create a love for writing, encouraging children to see it as a powerful tool to share their thoughts and ideas. Our curriculum is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all pupils, ensuring that everyone can achieve their full potential in writing.
